Mr. Massey was born in Charleston, WV and lived from ages 5-16 in Friendswood, TX (a suburb of Houston). Just after his sophomore year in High School, he moved with his family to Claremore, OK when his Dad took a job transfer. Although not a native Oklahoman, Mr. Massey claims the state as his home and loves living here. After graduating from Claremore High School, Mr. Massey attended OU and then transferred to Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, where he graduated with a BA in Social Studies Education. He then accepted a job teaching 11th grade U.S. History and coaching tennis at Muskogee High School. After two years at Muskogee, Mr. Massey took a position as the Head Tennis Coach at Bartlesville High School and taught 6th grade Social Studies at Central and then Madison Middle School. It was during this time he found his true calling, working with middle school students. During his time at Bartlesville, Mr. Massey completed his M.Ed in Educational Administration from SWOSU and became certified as a principal. He happily accepted the Principal position at Dewey Middle School and enjoys working with the students, staff, and families of such a wonderful community. Mr. Massey is married to his high school sweetheart, Tara, who is a Speech Pathologist in Bartlesville. They have two boys, Luke and Ryan, and a girl, Abigail. When not at school, Mr. Massey enjoys spending time with his family, friends, and at church. His hobbies include playing tennis, golf, reading, and watching movies.
